BIO
I initially started my creative career in London, firstly at St. Martins School of Art and then Middlesex University, where I studied ‘Surface Design’, specialising in Printed Textiles. I began to focus on a collection of glass jewellery, mirrors, tableware and lighting. This I sold directly and wholesaled to over thirty different outlets in and around the UK and the USA/Hong Kong and Italy. This I carried out from a studio space with Cockpit Arts in Holborn, London. After twelve years of running my own businesses, I took a break and relocated firstly to Mull, in Scotland and then settled in Cambridge.
Following a few years of non-creative work, I opened my own cafe and gallery, The Urban Larder. This stocked local food producers and local artists from a twenty mile radius, wherever possible. Following five successful years, I decided to sell the business and following a two year contract working with the local council, I decided to return to my ‘first love’ that of painting.
I relocated to Plymouth, Devon, at the beginning of the second lockdown, securing a place on a Masters Degree in Painting. I have recently completed this course and have taken a studio space with Grow Studios, while working on a part time basis with the Real Ideas Group. I look forward to continuing to develop my painting skills while looking to exhibit in and around Cornwall and Devon.
I enjoy working with upcycled wood, canvas and art materials, developing installation one off pieces and canvases (unframed) which can be posted to the client to frame up themselves in a frame of their choosing.
